You know the quote, “You never get a second chance to make a first impression”? Some people will say this is a debatable statement (you know, because you shouldn’t “judge a book by its cover”), but in the world of design that first, visual impression really is everything. Don’t believe me? Let’s play a quick game. Take a look at these images: Be honest: was it hard for you to answer these questions? I’m guessing your answer is no. Now go back and look at the images a little closer. What do you notice? 👀 Many people assume brand identity is only about the logo. Logos are definitely an important piece of the brand design puzzle, but in the images above both logos in each pair of images are exactly the same! 😮 So where did your decisions and assumptions come from? The surrounding visuals. Brand identity and design is so much more than just a logo and the game above proves my point. It only takes seven seconds for people to gain a solid impression of who you are and what you represent. Some research even suggests a tenth of a second is all it takes to start determining if someone or something is trustworthy. 🤯 Making sure your brand identity reflects your brand in an accurate, professional way that resonates with your audience helps build that TRUST. In the meantime, comment below and let me know if you answered (BAAB) to the images above and what you thought about that game experience.
